The Benefits of Online Therapy from a Coffs Harbour Psychologist

As a Clinical Psychologist based in Coffs Harbour, I understand that making time for your mental health can be challenging. Whether you're juggling work, parenting, or living out of town, it’s not always easy to attend in-person sessions. That’s why I offer online therapy services—a flexible, convenient way to access professional support wherever you are.

What is Online Therapy?

Online therapy (also known as telehealth) involves talking to me through secure video calls, so you can attend sessions from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere you feel safe and private. All you need is a stable internet connection and a device like a computer, tablet, or phone.

It’s a good idea to prepare a few minutes before our session begins so you can click the link I’ll send you in advance. This also gives you a moment to pause and mentally shift into ‘therapy mode’, especially during a busy day.

Who Can Benefit from Online Therapy?

Online therapy is a great option for:

  • Busy individuals needing flexible scheduling (e.g., therapy when WFH)

  • Parents who find it difficult to leave home

  • People living in rural or remote areas

  • Those who travel frequently

  • Anyone who feels more comfortable in their own home

Why I Offer Online Therapy

Therapy in 2025 needs to fit around our busy lives. Over the past few years, I've learnt just how effective online therapy can be—and how well it works for a wide range of people and concerns.

Online sessions allow me to offer flexible, high-quality support to clients not only in Coffs Harbour, but also across New South Wales and beyond. Whether you're at home, at work, or on the move, accessing therapy shouldn't be another source of stress.

Is Online Therapy Effective?

Absolutely. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face sessions for many mental health concerns. I work with individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Depression and low mood

  • Stress and burnout

  • Relationship issues

Every session is tailored to your needs—whether we meet online or in person. Many people also enjoy mixing their sessions, attending in a ‘hybrid’ way: some in person, some online, depending on what works best at the time. Often, clients choose to attend the first few sessions in person to get to know me, then switch to online therapy—which can work very well.
