Online Trauma Therapy with IRRT

Telehealth Psychologist

Samantha Duroska

Hi, I’m Sammy.

I am a Clinical Psychologist, Board-approved Supervisor and Trauma Therapist who works with adults experiencing anxiety and PTSD, offering in-person sessions in Bellingen and online therapy Australia-wide.

My approach is focused on helping you feel and hold your emotions, build self-compassion, and heal from trauma.

I work primarily with Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT), a method I also enjoy sharing with supervisees as part of their clinical development.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I am dedicated to help you heal from trauma to live fully again.

I'll guide you on this journey using the gentle imagery tool, IRRT, so that you can process safely and start feeling better again.

Trauma, PTSD & C-PTSD

Over the years, my focus has been on supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, whether from a single event or from ongoing and repeated experiences, such as childhood trauma.

I work with individuals aged 18 or over who are committed to improving their mental health and overall well-being.

How Trauma May Be Affecting You

Common ways this experience may be impacting your life include:

  • Low Self-Worth & Confidence

  • Persistent Self-Doubt

  • Anxiety and feeling On Edge (Hyperarousal)

  • Intrusive Symptoms such as Nightmares and Flashbacks

  • Relationship Difficulties

  • Low Mood and reduced life satisfaction

(Curious about whether trauma could be affecting you? Read more about common trauma symptoms here.)

Traumatic Experiences I Help You Process

In our work together, we discuss and process many types of traumatic experiences. Trauma is defined by the impact the event has on the individual, not the event itself.

Below are common traumatic events that clients bring to my practice:

  • Developmental & Relational Trauma:

    Emotional, physical, or sexual abuse,

    neglect and childhood trauma,

    difficult or abusive family dynamics.

  • Acute Single-Incident Trauma:

    Motor vehicle accidents,

    sudden loss or bereavement,

natural disasters (such as fires or floods), and assaults or attacks.

  • Interpersonal Violence:

    Witnessing violence,

    experiencing domestic violence,

or being the victim of a robbery or sexual assault.

Moving Beyond Talk: Gentle & Effective Processing

While talking about your experiences is an important first step, you may find that simply rationalising or trying to think your way through emotional pain leaves you feeling stuck. Real change happens when we allow ourselves to feel and process those experiences fully.

I am dedicated to making our sessions more than just talk. I work hard to implement experiential techniques that allow you to connect with the emotional reality of your past in a safe and controlled way.

Whenever appropriate, I will invite you to try another approach, one focused on feeling rather than intellectualising.

The most effective tool I’ve found is IRRT(Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy). It’s a gentle, guided imagery tool designed to help your brain safely process difficult memories and emotions, allowing you to start feeling safe, secure and better again.

Telehealth Sessions

Online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face sessions for addressing mental health concerns. The only difference is the physical room. Our sessions still take place live, just like a meeting in my office, but over a secure video link.

I offer convenient online trauma counselling across all of Australia, making effective support accessible whether you live in a city or a regional/remote area.

How Online Sessions Work

Choosing to meet online is often preferred because it saves you travel time and effort, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Before our scheduled time, you will receive a secure link that will give you easy access to our private video session via Zoom.

If you’re ready to get started, feel free to reach out.

I look forward to hearing from you.
