Trauma & Anxiety
In my practice, I mainly focus on helping clients overcome challenges such as:
Persisting Anxiety
Low Mood, Depression
Trauma and PTSD
Complex Trauma (C-PTSD)
Childhood trauma and emotional neglect
I work with individuals aged 18 or over who are committed to improving their mental health and overall well-being.
There is a connection between anxiety and trauma—learn more about how they interact in this blog post.
Over the years, my focus has been on supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, whether from a single event such as a car accident or sexual assault, or from ongoing and repeated experiences like bullying, relational trauma, and childhood abuse or neglect.
Curious about whether trauma could be affecting you? Read more about common trauma symptoms here.
Feel rather than Think … or just Talk
We tend to get stuck when we try to rationalise emotional topics and we won’t experience any real change. I work hard to implement experiential techniques into our sessions (or into some of them).
Whenever possible, I will ask if you’d be willing to try another approach to feel rather to think. I found IRRT to be the most effective approach. Feel free to learn more about IRRT here.
How often should we meet?
Weekly or fortnightly sessions are often ideal for therapy, but I understand that everyone's needs and schedules are different. If you have a tight schedule, or if you're interested in a focused one-off session or an intensive, we can certainly explore options that work best for you.
I value both long-term therapeutic journeys and shorter, more focused processes that can bring quick clarity and change.
Please note that for therapy to be most effective, starting with at least fortnightly sessions is generally recommended.
Evidence-based Therapy
I enjoy blending solution-focused, straightforward techniques with deeper emotional transformation, creating a therapeutic approach that is both practical and healing.
Although I’ve trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities (ACT, DBT, CBASP, Schema Therapy), I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT).
It is important to me that you feel comfortable with my approach throughout the process. I am happy to address any questions or concerns that you might have.

Therapy Session Fees & Payment
A standard therapy session is 50 minutes and costs $240. Payment is processed automatically through the booking system at the time of your appointment.
Extended sessions are available and sometimes necessary for in-depth processing and charged on a pro-rata basis.
Referral, MHCP, and Rebates
My services are available privately, without the need for a referral.
To access Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, who will refer you to my practice. The referral can be sent to samantha@reprocesspsychology.com.au.
You are eligible for up to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year, with each rebate valued at $145.25.
Please note, I do not offer bulk billing.
Additionally, my services are not intended for third-party funding arrangements such as Workcover, NDIS or victim services.
Private Health Insurance
Depending on your level of cover, your private health insurance may provide rebates for therapy sessions. Eligibility varies between providers and policies, so it's a good idea to contact your insurer directly for details. Please note that you cannot claim a Medicare rebate and a private health fund rebate for the same appointment.

Telehealth sessions
Therapy is available online, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
I offer secure telehealth sessions to clients across Australia. This can be especially helpful if you live in a regional or remote area, or if you'd simply prefer to avoid the time and travel involved in attending in-person appointments.
You’ll receive a secure video link (zoom), making it easy to join your appointment with just a click.
Cancellation policy
I understand that life gets busy sometimes, and there may be times when you need to reschedule your appointment. I do my best to be flexible and supportive with scheduling. However, because it can be difficult to offer cancelled spots to others at short notice, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur the full session fee.
To help you avoid any cancellation fees, you'll receive a reminder text 5 days before your appointment and a reminder email 3 days prior.
Thank you for your understanding.
